In our second instalment of exploring the Gardena product range, we are this time focusing on the Gardena ‘CleverRoll’ M Hose Trolley Set says Kiran Parmar.
Whenever you need to use a hosepipe for washing the car or watering the garden, there is nothing worse or more frustrating than having a leaky, knicked, or twisted hosepipe with poor connectors, or a reel which is difficult to wind or unwind. Well, thanks to Gardena, those problems are a thing of the past thanks to their award-winning trolley set.
The ‘CleverRoll’ M Hose Trolley Set, proudly made in Germany, features a 20 meter, 13mm diameter ‘classic’ hose. The unit benefits from frost protection technology and comes with an impressive five-year warranty upon registration. In addition, it has won the ‘Reddot Design Award 2018.’ The Reddot Design award dates back to 1955 and is now one of the world’s largest and most distinguished design competitions.
Gardena have incorporated space-saving storage of the garden hose with excellent portability, and convenient access to the spray nozzle with its own little storage bracket.
We really like the ergonomic crank handle with soft plastic components which makes it easy to rewind the hose, the handle also folds away neatly. The internal connector inside the reel is set at an angle which prevents the hose from becoming crushed or knicked when rewinding the hose back in.
The hose comes pre-assembled with the original system parts. Included are 1 x Cleaning Spray Nozzle, 1 x Water Stop Connector (Black), 3 x Hose Connectors (Grey), 2 x Tap Connector, and 1 x Adapter, which means the system is completely ready for use, all you need is a functioning garden tap!
The trolley push handle is height adjustable which makes it ergonomic and convenient to push the unit around your patio, garden, or driveway. The lower ‘kick’ stand automatically swings inside when you tilt the push handle towards you when you want to move the cart around. Simple kick the stand outwards with your foot when you want the trolley to stay in place, perfect if your garden, patio or driveway has a gradient.
The unit is also equipped with two ‘Aqua Stop’ points where you can store the connectors, this prevents water leaking when transporting the trolley. This would be particularly handy for mobile detailers who don’t want a puddle of water in their van after each job.
Depending on the size of your garden, the ‘CleverRoll’ trolley is also available in ‘L’ or large size which features a 50-meter hose. The standard cleaning spray nozzle that comes with the trolley is well made and had a nice rubber grip; you can easily adjust from a wide spray pattern to a fine pattern by twisting the grip. The connectors have a solid and satisfising feel when you ‘click’ them into place.
