Phillip Schofield takes a walk on the wild side for brand new This Morning series and he appears to be driving a Porsche 356 Speedster, but it is probably a Chesil.

Phillip Schofield embarks on a South African adventure of a lifetime in a brand new series Schofield’s South African Adventure for ITV’s This Morning.

Following a fleeting suggestion that ‘going on Safari’ and ‘swimming with sharks’ would be a huge tick on his bucket list, the flagship daytime show sent their host on a filming project like no other!

Travelling together with his wife, Stephanie, Phillip got to discover Cape Town by wandering through its famous markets, taking part in traditional street performances and sampling local delicacies. Phillip then got to enjoy one of his greatest passions during a visit to South Africa’s oldest winery that saw him sample some of the country’s finest wine exports.

Putting his nerves to the test, the films will also show Phillip seeing one of the wonders of the world – Table Mountain – and bravely taking part in the world’s highest abseil down it! With feet firmly back on the ground Phillip and Stephanie showed their wilder side on Safari as they witnessed Africa’s most deadly animals roam close by, helped with the preservation of rhinos, and later came face to face with a Great White Shark!

Talking about the experience, Phillip said, “This was a definite first for me. And to be honest, I was a little worried at first when I realised how keen bosses were to put me with all these dangerous creatures! But every part of the trip was mindblowing and an absolute dream of mine to do.”

He added, “The whole trip was a fantastic experience. I learnt more about wine, I got to see some of my all time favourite animals up close… it was the trip of a lifetime for sure. And I cannot wait to see it all again alongside our This Morning viewers when the films go out.”

Schofield’s South African Adventure will air on This Morning, 10.30am on ITV.
