You don’t need to have a handbuilt Morgan to get your hands on a fabulous watch. Due to popular demand, premium British watch brand Christopher Ward, and luxury motor car manufacturer Morgan Motor Company, have announced the exclusive C1 Morgan three-piece watch collection will now be made available to all.
Previously only available to Morgan car owners past and present, the three timepieces, all of which take inspiration from Morgan Motor Company’s legendary British craftsmanship and engineering, are now available to all watch and Morgan enthusiasts via the Christopher Ward website.
The collection, designed by Christopher Ward’s Senior Designer Adrian Buchmann in collaboration with Morgan’s Chief Designer Jonathan Wells, launched in March 2017 to mark the start of a five-year partnership between the two iconic British brands. Marrying Christopher Ward and Morgan in both performance and design, the C1 Morgan Collection was created to give Morgan enthusiasts the ability to incorporate the brand’s iconic designs into their everyday life through a quality British and Swiss timepiece. At the heart of each timepiece is a custom-made version of Christopher Ward’s renowned in-house movement, Calibre SH21, hand-built by watchmakers at their atelier in Biel, Switzerland.
The C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler Chronometer housed in a dynamic and sleek black diamond-like carbon coated Christopher Ward C1 Grand Malvern case. The timepiece offers a number of visible parallels to the Morgan 3 Wheeler motorcar and has been designed to offer vintage Christopher Ward C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler straight onelegance, perfect for those with a classic sense of style. The matte black dial is reminiscent of the car’s aviation-inspired design and the bespoke bridge design of the movement reflects the V-Twin design of the 3 Wheeler’s engine.
The C1 Morgan 3 Wheeler Chronometer sports a Tiber leather strap which is available in three colour options, camel, brown and black with an Aviation Black interior.
The second unique design to be unveiled is the C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer. Inspired by the Classic’s timeless design, the flowing lines of Christopher Ward’s Grand Malvern case capture the light perfectly presenting a watch of understated elegance and refinement.
Available with either the classic or contemporary Morgan Motor Company logo in the 12 o’clock position, the C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer incorporates the unique concentric circle motoring design on the twin barrels visible beneath a skeletonised bridge with polished chamfers that reflects the distinctive steering wheel design of the Morgan Classic.
With a smooth and pliable Piccari leather strap available in three colours, camel, brown and black with a Morgan Blue interior, the C1 Morgan Classic Chronometer is the ultimate addition to any dress watch collection.
The third watch in the collection, the C1 Morgan Aero 8 Chronometer is a key timepiece to add to the collection of the most discerning motorsport and Morgan enthusiasts. The seamless design features a 120 hour power reserve indicator, encapsulated in a polished case with brushed sides to accentuate ‘light-catcher’ lines to enhance the play of light and present a slimmer profile. The dramatic curved matte black and opalin azureé dial, finished with raised and printed indexes and layered subdials echoes the dials of the cars cockpit, celebrating the aeronautical yet playful feel of the car.
