Collection M45. Returning to the original Mechanical Moon Phase while simultaneously introducing some updates to the design, the two new regular models, and limited-edition model of 190 pieces featuring a new light blue dial, revive the charms of the classical mechanical watch for watch enthusiasts. Since its launch in 2017, Mechanical Moon Phase has gained worldwide acclaim for its design and functionality, becoming an iconic Orient Star model and an established favourite among watch aficionados with designs incorporating three elements: Orient Star’s iconic power reserve indicator, moon phase mechanism with date display and date hand, and semi-skeleton window showing the inner workings of the mechanical movement. The concept of the model that marks the slow passing of time in our increasingly digitized society has also been recognized for enhancing the value of mechanical watches. The M45 F7 Mechanical Moon Phase is an iconic model from the Classic Collection M45, named after the star cluster M45 Pleiades and characterized by a universal and serene design expressing the eternal passage of time. The new models consolidate the various dial layouts released since the original model first came out in 2017, and update some of the detailed design elements. The new models return to a design that closely resembles the original Mechanical Moon Phase. They include classical Roman numerals on the outer edge of the dial, and OS logo that is only visible depending on the angle of light, positioned in the centre of the dial within the ring separating the two sectors. A notable update has been made to one of the most original features of this watch: the expression of the moon phase. The moon’s backdrop has been changed to a vibrant, deep-blue-coloured night sky, and the stars appear sharper due to improved brightness. The dual curved sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides (SAR coating) blocks approximately ninety-nine percent of reflections, providing high visibility from every angle for a clear view of the entire watch dial. The rounded case and metal bracelet are made of high-quality stainless steel (SUS316L) and the bracelet now comes with short-pitch links that are convenient for fine-tuning the size for a better fit on the wrist. Both regular models with white and navy blue dials, and limited-edition model featuring a new light blue dial colour, come with an additional strap made of cordovan or leather, allowing the wearer to enjoy different facets of the watch. The automatic (with hand winding) in-house calibre F7M42 provides high accuracy of +15 seconds to –5 seconds per day and power reserve of 50 hours, and is visible from the sapphire crystal see-through case back. |
