An incredible collection of 68 cars will go under the hammer on Saturday 3rd September in Silverstone Auctions’ sale at Salon Privé and the Citroen DS is just one of them, seen here driven by Jay Leno.

The fabulous selection features some fantastically low mileage classics, delivery miles modern hypercars, highly original and rare homologation specials, star cars of the small screen and iconic pieces of British motoring history.

Headlining the incredibly high quality selection is a 2016 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster, one of just 500 produced, and estimated at between £480,000 and £520,000.

The unregistered car has a delivery mileage of just 59km, essentially making this a brand new car. The fastest Lamborghini convertible ever built will no doubt become legendary, as have previous iterations of the Superveloce, and a sure fire classic of the future.

From Maranello, a 1982 Ferrari 512 BBi, with just 9,000 miles from new, is estimated at between £200,000 and £230,000. The incredibly original car is in outstanding condition and must be seen to be truly appreciated. With an amazingly low mileage of just 1,977 miles from new, a 1998 Ferrari 550 Maranello is estimated at between £180,000 and £220,000. There’s also a 1989 Ferrari 348 TS on offer with just 3,983 miles from new, estimated at £75,000 to £85,000.

Probably the best Citroen DS in the world, a 1973 Citroen DS Super 5, has a sale estimate of £75,000 to £90,000. The right-hand drive DS is presented in Blanc Meije bodywork with original Red Targa upholstery. It has just one previous recorded keeper, the CEO of the supplying Citroen dealership, and was originally registered with the number plate WRC 1. This Concours winner is known on the world Citroen circuit, having won Concours d’Elegance events in eight European countries and has even been offered a permanent place at the national Citroen Museum in France.

An incredible 1990 Mercedes-Benz 190 E 2.5-16 Evolution II, with just 885 miles on the clock, is estimated at between £180,000 and £220,000. This particular car, number 452 of 502 cars made by Mercedes-Benz, is one of only four cars that were officially sold new in the UK. Testament to its originality and low mileage, amazingly the dealer sticker still resides on the back window in pristine condition.

For those on the lookout for a piece of classic Americana, then a 1968 Shelby GT500, estimated at £100,000 to £120,000, could be the perfect fit. Chassis number 00551, the car is a second series GT500 and is one of just 1,020 examples built and features desirable factory options. Offered publicly for sale for the first time ever in Europe, this incredible vehicle is included within the Shelby World Register and has a deluxe Marti Report.

If you prefer a British classic a special and original, UK-delivered 1959 Jaguar XK150 3.4 S Drophead Coupe in beautiful condition is estimated at between £130,000 and £160,000. What must be one of the lowest mileage Esprit Turbos in existence and certainly the most original car Silverstone Auctions have ever inspected, a 1992 Lotus Esprit Turbo SE with just 1,800 miles on the clock, is estimated at £40,000 to £45,000.
